  i used to be very active int he organization, "high profile" so to speak.

  always taking the gorup out in service, always having parts on the platform etc etc.

  almost 5 years ago, i simply did not show up anymore.

  here is an email that my grandmother sent me yesterday.. .

  shawn, it's very difficult & sad to come to this decision, but because of your attitude towards the truth & us personally (thinking that we are stupid) we're going to treat you as a disfellowshipped person from now on.

  actually, you're worse than them because usually they know they have not kept their oath to jehovah & don't speak abusively of the organization and don't turn apostate.

  first off a big thanks to everyone here, you have received me with much love and support.

  i appreciate all that have contributed their time and hardwork over the years here at jwn.. this post here is directed to those who are on the fence like i was.

  i hope this helps you in some way to understand both the doubts and indoctrination.. i am also currently an active jehovahs witness and have been for almost 20 years (26 years old).

  You are so fortunate that your wife is "on the same page" with you. ( I looked back at your first topic post)

  Emery, I'm glad that you have made TTATT your OWN!!!!!!!!!!!

  I just mentioned on another post that I'm not gonna kick myself (about time lost etc) as there's still time.

  Non regrettes rien. No regrets. Waste of precious time.

  And that if I should start, I will remind myself that Ray Franz was a GB member for 9 years. He had better insight than any of us R&F JW's.

  Ray Franz' book was/is so eye opening about how the GB operate.

  The book didn't make a difference as far as my learning TTATT, as I read it after the scales had already fallen from my eyes.

  Just wondering, what initially caused you to begin your research on the FDS????

  Have you ever wondered why as Jehovah's Witnesses you ignored the inconsistencies, lies and hypocricies of the Watchtower's Governing Body for so long?

  1. the watchtower often praised rutherford's 1918 talk "millions now living will never die.

  " however, everyone who had ever heard that talk was dead.. 2. the governing body urges the placement of the watchtower's "bible" literature with strangers.

  What leads a person to think they are inspired by God?

  there seems no end of people claiming to be inspired.

  there are numerous holy books claiming to have been handed to their writers by god.

  these days a person writing their own holy book is likely to be met with scepticism (unless you are a scientologist), so people tend to claim to be inspired to interpret older holy books.

  Apostatethunder- Avoid know-it-alls and judgemental people and specially the ones that don’t practice what they preach.

  You are right!!! I have only associated with know-it-alls and judgemental ppl at the KH of Jw's.

  And knowing that makes it all the more easier to walk away.

  Never could understand it in a Christian.

  newflash in the ongoing addiction and mania that started at age twelve when the national broadcast news showed pictures of these english boys with very, very long hair.

  i stopped by a local grocery store b/c i was not certain that a challis scarf was wool or rayon b/c the fabric content is in arabic.

  thank allah for arabic numerals.

  Disowning letter from father to gay son

  a friend or mine posted this on facebook (it has made the rounds on the net).. i didn't have the heart to tell her that this looks like a fairly typical letter from a jw to a disfellowshipped letter, often for things that would blow a normal person's mind (holidays, politics, marriage outside the cult, etc).. .
